Dubai Holding checks into Spanish luxury hotel

Deka Immobilien has sold the Jumeirah Port Sóller Hotel & Spa complex on the Balearic island of Mallorca to a subsidiary of international investment firm Dubai Holding. The purchase price was not disclosed.

The sale of the long-held luxury hotel was for portfolio strategy reasons, as the island of Mallorca as a location and the hotel's predominantly leisure-oriented use no longer met the fund's strategic requirements.

The property was acquired as a development project in 2007 and, upon completion, leased to Jumeirah Port Soller Mallorca, SL. At the end of 2015, the complex was further expanded through the acquisition of an adjacent undeveloped plot of rural land.

The resort, comprising nine buildings, offers a total usable area of 21,189 square meters distributed across 121 hotel rooms and suites. The hotel has a number of restaurants and bars, a spa and wellness area spanning approximately 2,000 square meters, a fitness center, and a kids' club complement the high-quality amenities. In addition, 58 parking spaces are available to guests in the underground garage.
