Accor has strengthened its partnership with Indian travel conglomerate InterGlobe.
The partnership will see both companies bring their currently owned assets, development and management businesses in India to form one autonomous integrated platform Hospitality Enterprise. This new entity will become the exclusive vehicle for growing all Accor brands in India.
Accor currently operates 71 hotels in the country with 40 more in development, spanning from economy to luxury brands. Through this alliance, Accor aims to significantly expand its footprint and streamline operations.
The new platform is targeting a network of 300 hotels under Accor brands by 2030.
Accor and InterGlobe also are investing in a majority share of Indian hotel-franchising firm Treebo, which has around 800 hotels across India. Under this partnership, Treebo signed 10 Mercure-branded hotels in India and will take the lead to develop the Ibis and Mercure brands in India through a master license agreement.
