IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened the first Holiday Inn – the niu property in Germany, marking the start of the collaboration between Holiday Inn and the niu, Novum’s upper midscale brand.
This opening follows IHG and Novum’s signing of a 30-year franchise deal in April which included the addition of Novum Hospitality hotels to IHG’s system as well as an exclusivity arrangement for future Novum Hospitality hotels to join IHG’s system, with an ambition to jointly develop further hotels over time.
Located in Erlagen, the Holiday Inn - the niu Cure, Erlangen comprises 177 rooms, a lobby, a bar lounge area and a lobby shop.
More Holiday Inn – the niu hotels are expected to open in the coming months including in locations such as Nuremburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg and Potsdam. Outside of Germany, it will be available in locations including Amsterdam and Haarlem in the Netherlands, Manchester in the UK, and Vienna in Austria.
