Hyatt has always managed to punch way above its overall weight when it comes to the luxury sector and it sounds like it is going to make a renewed push to grow its presence there in 2026.
To get there it has announced the appointment of Tamara Lohan as global brand leader – luxury on an interim basis. Lohan’s name will be familiar to many in the industry as she co-founded the boutique hotel travel specialists Mr & Mrs Smith alongside her husband James. The company was acquired by Hyatt in 2023.
In her new role Lohan will guide Hyatt’s global luxury brand strategy while elevating brand consistency and guest experiences across its luxury portfolio.
Hyatt has nearly 125 luxury hotels representing more than 21,000 rooms worldwide with brands including Park Hyatt, Alila, Miraval, Impression by Secrets and The Unbound Collection by Hyatt.
It continues to expand strategically in the destinations that matter most to guests, members, customers, travel advisors and owners.
Significant openings next years include:
- Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol, Park Hyatt Cancun, Park Hyatt Mexico City, Park Hyatt Vancouver and Park Hyatt Phu Quoc
- Alila Mayakoba
- The Unbound Collection's Kennedy 89 in Frankfurt, Germany and a new coastal experience in Nice, France.
